Webinar Welcome Participants

Hello Webinar Participants:

Welcome to The Attach Place Center for Strengthening Relationships’ first Therapeutic Parenting Online Webinar and Support Group.  I have been providing therapeutic parenting classes to parents and professional agencies for almost 20 years now.  This is the first time we are taking the plunge into virtual learning.  That does make you our guinea pigs, but they are cute little balls of joy, so you will be treated with the utmost respect and adoration as we move through this adventure together.

You may be attending this webinar filled with anticipation, hopefulness, frustration, exhaustion, or all of the above; living with and around children from difficult beginnings can be challenging, as much as inspiring.  It is my sincere desire to bring you the best information available on the topic, access to support and resources, understanding and true empathy.

How It Will Work:

Each instructional webinar is one hour long with an option to spend an extra 15-minutes in a live Q & A. The instructional webinar will be held Tuesdays from 10 am to 11:15 am.  On Thursdays of the same week, there will be a one-hour facilitated discussion support webinar for all participants to talk freely about the content of the prior webinar and application to your own personal family lives.

The instructional time will not allow a video feed while you are learning; however, the Q & A parts and support group sessions will allow you to be seen by all the participants if you so choose.  You are free to adjust these settings as you are most comfortable.  Absolutely no pressure.  Your name will be displayed when you have joined the group.

You will be able to text questions during the webinar that will be held in a virtual parking lot until the Q & A portion of the session.  I will do my best to answer the questions during the session and if anything is left unanswered, I will attempt to complete them in the chat forum after the webinar.

Webinar Schedule:

The first webinar is scheduled for August 1st from 10 am to 11:15 am. Below you will find all of the access information to tune into the webinar on that day and it would help if ahead of time you give yourself a few minutes to see if your computer, laptop, or phone are correctly equipped and adjusted for that day.

Click here for the webinar schedule and topics.  Please note the difference in start time for the 8/8/17 webinar.   If you cannot attend any of the webinars, there will be access to a recorded version following each session at www.attachplace.com/webinar-resources.

Homework Before the First Session:

Before the webinar, (if you haven’t done this in the past) take 20 minutes to watch Dr. Nadine Burke Harris discuss ACES and take the ACES Test (below) to find out your score, your partner’s score, and your child’s score.

After the Session:

After each webinar, you will be able to access that session’s video at your leisure on youtube.com.  You will receive the link in your email following each session.

Remember that you are a cute, fuzzy guinea pig, so feel free to be squeaky little piggies and speak up if something isn’t working right, you need something, you don’t like something, you want to suggest something, or maybe say something about what works really great.  We value your experience with this process. This could be our first and last webinar depending on your feedback.    😉

If you are having difficulty with anything related to getting started, please let me know at ce@attachplace.com.

See you soon.  Love matters,
