Our mission is to support you and to provide competent, attachment-based services to those who seek stronger connections, emotional healing and wellness, lasting relationships, and loving family lives. We believe that Love Matters in every relationship. We practice therapy that way, too.
Ce is the author of Drowning With My Hair On Fire: Insanity Relief for Adoptive Parents and the founder of The Attach Place. With 35+ years of experience and training in marriage and family therapy, she began specializing in attachment and trauma treatment 24 years ago after bringing her two children home from the foster care system.
Ce has been fortunate to receive training from master psychotherapists, including Virginia Satir, Karyn Purvis, James Framo, Francine Shapiro, Marsha Linehan, Sue Johnson, Bruce Ecker, Pat Ogden, Daniel Siegel, Daniel Gottman, Peter Levine, Dan Hughes, Bruce Perry, Bessel van der Kolk, and many more.
Most recently, Ce has been certified to provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and is delighting in helping those who have valiantly struggled with complex posttraumatic stress, depression and anxiety lift the veil on symptom-free living.
Ce is also the stepmother of 2, grandmother of 2, and rescue mom of 6 dogs and 3 feral kittens! She learned in the thick of raising her own children from difficult beginnings just how important it is to cultivate a loving relationship, quality friendships, work/life balance, and trauma-informed support to make life fulfilling and joyful.
Her book, published in 2016, is a compilation of supportive love letters to adoptive parents designed for daily inspiration for thriving in one of the toughest jobs on Earth–parenting traumatized children.
Jen received her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development from the University of California, Davis.
Jen has experience working with individuals of all age groups–couples, children, and families. She knows from personal experience that there is a need for compassionate therapy for women who are in every stage of planning a family–pre-conception, pregnancy, birth, peripartum, and the grief from loss that often accompanies the journey. She welcomes these women into per practice with open arms.
Jen has expertise in working with culturally diverse individuals and families, supporting them with cross-generational and acculturation issues. Recognizing the complexity of human behavior, she employs the use of a spectrum of theories to guide her to effectively identify each individual’s needs.
In her work, she utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches with
specialized training in attachment-based approaches, Theraplay(c), EMDR, and Neurofeedback. Understanding that each individual comes with unique challenges, her interventions and approaches are always tailored to the individual’s needs. When necessary, Jen provides therapy in Vietnamese. She and her husband have two daughters and a son.

Karyn Combo Speakman is the mom to 4 adoptive children who came into her life when they mutually needed each other. Karyn and Rich have been married for 22 years. Every day she learns how to better meet the needs of their kids so that she can support and encourage them to heal the hurts of their pasts. It is a ceaseless journey of love, understanding, and growth.
For fun, she loves to play in the kitchen, host parties, explore nature, and spend time with her people.
Karyn began here as a parent in The Love Matters Parenting Society Membership; and after the first year she was skilled and practiced to the point where her insights for other parents were invaluable to all. We asked her to join our team at The Attach Place as a Parent Moderator in the LMPS membership. She said, “Yes.” Yay!
Tracy is our wizard “Chick Out of the Box” IT Business Consultant. Without her, we might be very, very sad.
